Providing two free, non-toxic home cleanings for Minnesotans in the seven-county Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area currently undergoing cancer treatment.
Every year in Minnesota, over 38,000 people are diagnosed with cancer. Cindy Bearman, co-founder of Cleaning Up for Cancer, is herself is a breast cancer and Merkel Cell Carcinoma survivor, who is currently battling with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Together with her husband, David, founded Cleaning Up for Cancer with the purpose of addressing an often-overlooked social determinant of health: maintaining a clean and safe home environment during treatment

But no one grabbed a vacuum.
No one dusted the bookshelves.
No one offered to help create a clean and safe home environment.
Cindy and David turned that gap into Cleaning Up for Cancer.

Ways You Can Help Cleaning Up for Cancer
Cleaning Up for Cancer is a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free, non-toxic home cleaning services to cancer patients who are actively undergoing treatment, helping reduce household burdens and maintain a safer living environment during recovery.
Our services are completely funded by individuals and businesses like yours. Alongside our partners, our community and the good people of Minnesota, we can deliver a direct, tangible service that immediately reduces daily stress and improves living conditions for patients during active treatment.

“Most cleaning products on the market contain high amounts of toxic chemicals. According to the U.S. Environmental Agency, the air inside most homes is 2-5 times more polluted than the outside air. That pollution is the direct result of household cleaners and pesticides. Over 150 chemicals found in the average household have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancer and psychology abnormalities.”
